Info about Norco?

The Lortab 10/500's weren't lasting me long enough (they should last at least 4 hours for 1 pill, 6-8 for 2 pills, but they wear off after about 2 1/2 to 3 hours for 1 pill and after about 4 hours for 2 pills). I was frustrated about this and talked to my spine doctor about this. He prescribed me Norco 10/325, he said they are the strongest he is allowed to prescribe for me. I said, ok.

I thought since Norco has the same stuff (hydrocodone/apap) it would work the same as the Lortab, only it has less apap (Tylenol). Okay. So I took 2 Norcos, like I usually take 2 Lortabs (I usually need 2 Lortabs when I have severe pain). Wow. It hit me pretty hard. Seems Norco actually is stronger than the Lortab, but how so? They have the same stuff, just less Tylenol. What gives? And it even lasts longer as well. Wow.

Can anyone explain why/what are the difference between the strengths of the hydrocodone in the Lortab and the Norco - they are both 10 mgs?

Also, my doc is referring me to another doc for a nerve block and for some Fentanyl patches or OxyContin as they last longer and are extended release. He does not have the authority to RX the Fentanyl or the OxyContin. He think these options are a good idea for me. I am glad he does not think I am a drug seeker, he is an awesome doctor. He is quite friendly.

I'm glad you are getting some help.  I might be wrong about this but I think any doc can prescribe schedule II meds like oxy, fentanyl, dilaudid, they just choose not to.  They are afraid of the DEA.

Sorry I can't help you with your question, I thought Lortab 10 was the same as Norco just with less tylenol.
