I am a 23 year old female and lately I have been having hot flashes. This is scaring me a little cause I never het fevers ( my temp is usually below normal) but lately i am been getting temps of 99 degrees. Today I was sittting at work which is usually freezing but I would go through waves of being really hot then cool down for a bit then hot again. My friend jokingly said i was going through menopause has anyone else experianced this? I am currently on remicade

Hi there, well I been having "hot flashes" for a few years now, I was diagnosed in 2004 with crohns, i had my intestines rupture, since then at night I tend to get hot flashes to the point where it can be regular so I dont remember not occasionally having them, I do not register fevers anymore either, though I did as a child. Ive had other hormornal issues related to taking birth control pills (which I cant take anymore) but I would recommend mentioning it to your doctor just to be safe, it could be related to any number of females things or some maybe something to do with meds your on.

Hang in there, Im 25 now, so you arent the only one dealing with these things at such a young age.

when i was 21 (25 now) and before i was diagnosed - i had hot flashes which didnt seem to make sense! didnt put 2 and 2 together at the time since the doctors were all dumbfounded by how i was feeling - but my OBGYN and i discussed the hot flashes and being put on birth control (yasmin) has immensely helped! they stopped almost immediately. im still on it now and it still helps. very rarely will i have hot flashes, usually only during the first night of my period. just something to consider and ask your doctor.

thanks for the replies, I am already on birth control have been for a long time due to painful periods. i am not sure what this could be it just started about 2 weeks ago and I was diagnosed almost 5 years ago

maybe it's time to discuss a different form of bc? with a different hormone? depending on how long youve been on your current bc - ive been told the effectiveness could last anywhere from 2 - 5+ years. depending on your body of course.
