Here's what i could find on the internet about
it.
According to health canada there are no other similar products. It's by Shire Canada. (they also made adderall) In Cosmo's (drug company not the magazine) there's a press release (http://www.cosmopharmaceuticals.com/csm/news/press/pr2006/2006-12-19/) that states it's a once daily oral medication that induces endoscopic and clinical remission of mild-to-moderate [symptoms]. This technology allows the delivery of active pharmaceutical ingredients into the lumen of the colon in a delayed and controlled extent with the effect that the active drug can be applied to the full length of the colon. A pH-sensitive acrylic copolymer delays the release until the tablet reaches the indicated intestinal
location where the dissolution of the drug begins.
