I don't know how many of you have heard of EFT, but it's something that my counselor taught me in order to manage my anxiety disorder. Today was the first apointment that i've had since finding out i have crohn's and we were talking about
EFT & Crohn's. She said that she's had alot of success with EFT with Crohn's. Apparently she's observed a relationship between flare ups and emotions, and when the use of EFT is introduced to manage emotions it winds up managing the symptoms of Crohn's as well. The benefits of EFT can actually be virtually applied to anything.
EFT is a form of psychological acupressure that uses a gentle tapping technique instead of needles to stimulate traditional Chinese acupuncture points. The tapping on the designated points on the face and body is combined with verbalizing the identified problem followed by a general affirmation phrase. Combining these ingredients of the EFT technique balances the energy system and appears to relieve psychological stress and physical pain. Restoring the balance of the energy system allows the body and mind to resume their natural healing abilities. EFT is safe, easy to apply, and is non-invasive. I'm a counselor and watched some sessions of eft as part of my training. I don't know of anyone who has received this type of therapy or have any personal experience with it myself but it is taught in accredited graduate schools so that may speak to its legitamacy.

I don't know that it's used alot. It was just something she observed a connection on. It was interesting that why I posted it here. I know it's helped me alot with my anxiety.

EFT worked for me, when I remembered to apply it. I would usually do it before I'd go to sleep...for anxiety and insomnia. Thanks for bringing it up to jog my memory. I had totally forgotten about
it.
You have to be careful not to overdo it because it can stimulate you too much. Do it just enough to ease the anxiety, etc.
My neighbor has a real hard time going into supermarkets and passing by the meat section. Raw meat sets off panic in him (Viet Nam vet exposed to a lot of carnage). He will do EFT right in the aisle and doesn't care who's looking. It's the only way he can get past the meat section.

I did try it but it did not work well for me. I could never remember the tapping sequence and would have to keep looking. I am not a very patient person though. lol

Thank you for posting the information. It may help some people and if it does that is good.
