Non Crohn's Symptoms but hope someone can advise anyway

Hi Guys,
I haven't been on for a while because I was feeling great after my bowel resection last Feb. (Feb does not seem to be a good month.) Hope everyone is a well as can be expected.

My new symptoms started about a month ago. I went to the bathroom, had what I thought were 3 (normal for me) bm's and then started getting cramps and pain. Lasted all day. I stopped eating but not eating didn't make me feel any better. I also started getting loud gurgling and lots of bowel activity. I seemed to be worse in the mornings after BM's and would eventually settle down in the evening. Symptoms are the same whether eating or not eating.

My gastro put me on Flagly (2 x 250 mg 2x's a day.) After a couple of days I was feeling much better. But on the last day of the Flagyl dose I got bad cramps at night which woke me up and finally felt better after going to the bathroom. Again on fluids. Didn't feel any better.

Had an ultrasound, saw a bit of an anomoly in the lower small bowel (not my ususal place) lots of bowel activity (movement of fluid back and forth) but no obstruction. My gastro dismissed the ultrasound as non-conclusive. He suggested I get a second opinion (I guess he's trying to get rid of me.) Cute

Am having tests for parasites and hopefully infection but no results yet.

The latest symptom is a burning sensation not only in the anal are but in the vaginal area and, to me, it feel like inside my whole bowel. Also my tongue feels wierd.

Any suggestions as to what this could be would be greatly appreciated. Not knowing what's going on is not a nice place to be as you must all know.

Girl sounds like you have a bad case of yeast to me. Burning in those 2 areas something going on with your tongue ,gurgling noises, all sound like classic yeast infection to me. I would get that yeast pill cant remember the name and also get a 3-4 percent monostat vaginal cream the three day one at least. Take plain yogurt and put a table spoon in your mouth and hold as long as possible if you cant take milk products spit it out. Drink some good quality green tea with no sweetener. When they check your stool for parasites ask them to check for yeast. Are you taking pro-biotics I got a nasty yeast infection from taking them I was a strand of the yeast family. AVOID all sugars and white carbs.

I so hope you are right, sure would be easier than all the other possibilities. I've put in a call for a house call (can you believe it, they come to me.)

With yeast of the mouth it will first start to feel raw with bumps and then you will get a whitish film on your tongue problem with that is you will re-infect your mouth with your tooth brush so after every use rinse well with super hot soapy water then dunk into a glass with water and some bleach just enough bleach to kill the bugs. Rinse well before using to make sure no bleach is on it. Throw brush away after to get rid of yeast.
Those yogurt "immunity drinks" some have a strain of yeast as the probiotic be careful of those too.

... and if it is a fungal infection, the doctors may be able to prescribe Nilstat or Fungilin to help you.
