Encouraging stories of remicade dose increase or humira

Hi everyone!

I have been on Remicade for about a year and was the most wonderful medication in the world for me!!!.. I was very sick when I strated it and I really can't remember a time ever in my life (always had a 'bad' stomach since I was little)where I have felt so good! Well I finally think its starting to wear off: (.. I was having some symptoms after my last infusion and I waited it out till this last infusion I recieved 2 weeks ago and I am in horrible shape already( I am doing my whole lay on my belly thing right now that I do when my stomach hurts, which I havent had to do in a year so I am quite sad about this).. I spoke with my doctor last week and said she would bump me to 10mg/kg if this continued..so it looks like it may be going that way....so anyone have any stories they would like to share to give me some hope this uped dosage will help me.. always all humira stories are welcome also..if remicade stops working thats my nest step..

My Remicade dosage had to be increased above the normal, recommended dose. It helped for another 8-9 months. Then I developed a reaction to Remicade and had to stop taking it. There are many here that take more than the recommended dose, some on double doses for a good long period of time.

I went from 8 weeks to 6 weeks at the normal dose, but then we upped my dose and I now can go every 8 again. I would try moving your doses closer together before I upped the dosage. I see you just had a baby....congrats!!!

Thanks on the congrats for the baby.. He's actually over a year old..it was last feb 26: )..They already have me at every 6 weeks..but I never thought of a double dose being able to sustain be for the full 8 weeks!..I am really hoping it will start helping ..I guess the plan is to go to 10mgs/kg and and if that doesnt work shorten it to every 4 weeks and if that doesnt work then humira...:)

I was on Remicade up till a month ago.  Took it for about 3 years.  Thought I felt great on it, but feel much better on Humira.  Remicade was a double dose every six weeks.  Humira took a week to work and I am so thankful for it.  I thought Remicade was my godsend, but Humira actually is, for me anyway.
