It always puts me in a panic

I don't know about you, but everytime i begin to bleed (in stool) i start getting a bit panicky. My GI told me not to worry to much about bleeding on it's own... but it just doesn't seem like one of those kinds of symptoms that can be pushed aside (like bloating or cramping per say).

So tonight, I'm very constipated, all i want to do is have the biggest poop ever, but the only thing coming out is two little plops and about 1/4 cup of bright red blood...

Any thoughts? Should i be worried? I have an apointment next monday with the GI.

I got really freaked out in January and my doc said the same thing--not to worry. Do you really think it was a quarter cup? That sounds worriesome. The blood does look much worse when it hits the water and when we wipe. If you are upset and it seems to be persistent, call the doc. Mine had me go to a soft diet for a few days with immodium and it helped at that point. Good luck.

Understand how you feel, Kal... *I've gotten a bit of blood in the small bits of stool I've had, too... And I've been really, really constipated... My constipation has eased up some since I've added more fiber to my diet... but I still have problems* :(... Need to keep up on getting more fiber, too... I think I've been slacking the past couple of days... and I'm having really bad bathroom problems again... I only dropped two little half-a-thumb sized poops today... :(... And it hurt bad...

Hard not to worry when it comes to this disease... Seems like so many things can (and will) go wrong... Try not to stress out too much, though... Stress tends to makes things worse, you know? Just take a deep breath... Try and take solace in the fact you'll be seeing the doctor soon...

I'm very constipated right now too, and quite miserable tonight! I have had episodes of bright red blood before. My Doc's best guess was that it was an internal hemmoroid, but it was higher up then he could examine. It scared me too, but seemed to resolve on its own. My Crohn's active disease is in the ileum...so it's the dark blood and anemia that gets more worrisome. I hope you feel better soon.
