anybody here on it? this is my 3rd time filing and well I have an atty this time..Im not playing. Ive tried working 3 jobs this year and got hospitalized so now the govt needs to help me out!

I am on disabilty and it took me three times for me and I as well got a lawyer on the third time but not a week went by when I got a letter in the mail telling me that I had been approved and that I would be getting a call telling how much I would draw and when I would get my back pay and my first check.So please don't give up,and if you want to talk about it feel free to e-mail me.

go for it!!!  I got it.  U r usually turned  down the first time and then have to keep sending more info. If your attorney is good at this... then things should go smoothly.  It took me 1 1/2 years!  The most important thing... make sure your docs.. all of them  are on your side.  Let them know to write  in a letter you CAN"T work!  My GI did that!  I did have to go before a judge but was prepped by my attorney...

Oh and don't be afraid about having to go before a judge. I know a lot of people here stress and worry about having to run out of the courtroom to poop or how many times they will have to go or even worse having an accident. But remember you are in court to prove your disability. If you poop your pants have your lawyer slap a sticker on your butt and say "your honor, I'd like to move to admit exhibit A." Many moons ago someone in here posted that they couldn't stop burping the day of their hearing and that the judge noticed that and spoke of it while awarding the disability. While I am sure that person was embarassed that the judge noticed his/her burping, it really probably helped the case! So don't try to fake normal if/when you go to court. It is not a wedding or graduation. It is you convincing someone else why you can not be gainfully employed. So if you are in the bathroom when your case is called, even better. PS: feel free to bring back some toilet paper for exhibit B.

lol fitzy ur too funny....so should I call the disability/social security people everyday? or should my atty be doing that? how long did it take for you all to get awarded?

Im not scared of a judge but just would like this process to hurry up...Im hoping for backpay--back when i originally filed in July 2005---my docs have already given my attys statements saying Im disabled sooooo---Im hoping this will help

best of luck to you! i am so sick of people abusing ssi & ssd* so that people that really need it have to get a lawyer to defend their chronic illness >:/

but at this point, you've battled so long your persistence should get you the help you deserve.

*i have known people that "claim" they have fibromyalgia and bipolar disorder and have gotten disability on their first shot. this subject really gets me heated!

hey dustspeck..I found out that people get ssd and ssi from being an addict (yes on drugs) i used to be in bailbonds..and all these people we bailed out were on SSD---crazy--they used their checks to buy drugs or post bails!!
