I have posted something regarding the symptoms that I am having lately on this website already...but I was just informed that its possible I could be experiencing signs of
rheumatoid arthritis... which scares me a little bit cause I dont know much about
it....has anyone out there been diagnosed with this?

I don't have RA but do have Osteoarthritis. I know many of us Crohnies do suffer with some form of either inflammatory arthritis or osteoarthritis. Some also have Ankolysing Spondylitis also which is another form of arthritis.

Hi! I don't have RA, but I do have Lupus SLE (sister of RA) and Fibromyalgia with my Crohn's.

Haven't developed full blown arthritis at this point but have a lot of joint problems. My doc says I have a "pre-arthritic" condition which will probably develop into arthritis at some point in my life. Great......Something else to worry about

I have the arthritis that is specific to Crohn's, which is very similar to RA, along with Osteoarthritis ( does the fun EVER end?!). What you describe sounds like IBD arthritis, one of if not, the most common extra-intestinal complication of this DD.
BTW, the treatment is very similar to RA anyway.
Sincerely,
Matthew

I have Sever Ulcerative Colitis and got Sever mid back pain about
3 years before UC. Dr said it was arthritis. When My UC flares up really bad my back tightens up and hurts more I guess the inflamation spreads.

I have had RA for eleven years. I am serum positive. Lots of the medications used to treat RA will also help your Chron's. Feel free to pop over to the arthritis forum as well.

I have osteoarthritis but not RA. The only medication that helps with the pain is Vicodin....which I take at night and then only if I have major discomfort.
