need advice dr now gave 18 mg entocort for 2 weeks

My husband crohns symptoms back (right side pain ,BM one time buy change in consistency) in 3 rd july his GI gave him 2 pills 3mg two times for 4 weeks then taper and he said that after 7 days symptoms not improve then call us then after 10 days my husband pain little improve but yesyterday his pain again worse like first day so he called his GI his nurse told him that take 2 cpsules 3 times for 2 weeks then taper.But everywhere i searched 9 mg is the maximum dose .

Do we need a scecond opinion or do what i'm confused.I 18 mg is ok?

I agree a second opinion... I would make sure the Doctor was telling you the right thing. Maybe also ask the pharmacist? they may have info. Also, Entocort does take some time to work. I have taken it for a year and am weaning off it right now. It did take a month before I saw a little improvement. Karen
