For the past few weeks, I have started noticing when someone sneezes or coughs in public, and does not cover it up.  It bothered me previously, but now, I get really irritated and I notice it more than I did before. 

I guess with being on immunosuppressive drugs, I worry more about getting sick.  Anyone else feel this way??  confused

I found out as well that a lady I work with and her husband have Hand, Foot and Mouth Disease.  I am hoping I had it as a child--I cannot afford to get sick right now!  And being immunosuppressed REALLY makes me wonder just what I could catch...

I just want you to know that you're not alone, and I understand your fears/concerns.  I work as an Occupational Therapist in a hospital! eyes    I am exposed to EVERYTHING, including c-diff, MRSA, etc.  I just take universal precautions.  I gown, glove, and mask when entering a patient's room with these diagnoses.  (We have to anyway.)  For all others, I wash my hands all of the time.  I also carry an anti-bacterial hand gel with me.  When I get home, I immediately take a shower.

As far as when I'm just "out and about,"  I make sure to turn the other way if someone coughs, never touch my face with my hands when in public, and use hand sanitizer until I get home and can wash my hands well.

I am the same way. I have a co worker who always seems to be sick. I finally told her to go to the DR, because I can not get sick and explained it to her. She still did not go. I told my boss and my boss had a talk with her and HR and she finally went to the DR. (my boss is preg.)

I thought it was just me. I'm always afraid somethings going to happen. My grandkids live with me and it seems they always have a runny noises. I never feel good anyway, so I don't want to feel worse. Its funny I talked to my GI and told him since I started taking humira I was feeling better (I wasn't going 10-15 times a day) so he asked me if I went back to work. I haven't worked since march 06. Tried to get off the endocort and ran all day. But now I'm getting constipated , and I bloat like I'm 8 months along, and that can't happen. I'm always hurting, I don't need anything else on my plate. My question is if we do get something, does it get worse for us, or last longer ????

I know when I was on 6mp I had those same worries.  I wasn't obsessive about it, but I did take precautions, such as avoiding sick people and always washed my hands.  But I never got sick at all, and it was during the winter and I had sick people all around me sick with the flu.  I also always made sure I got a flu shot each year.  Actually still do and I haven't even had a cold in a longtime.  JMHO

You are so not alone. I've always had a problem with it, because it just seems like I catch things more easily, without or without Crohn's medications. But when I went on Pred, I became even more aware of the "germs" around me. LOL So far *knock on wood* I've been healthy this year though.
