fistulas and 6mp????

 ok thank you everyone for their help on my previous question i appreciate it very much!!!

 now i have another question and need some opinions..is it ok to have a "relationship" cough cough with a guy when u have a V fistula and a R fistula??? like would it hurt it at all if its still open?? and i take my 6mp at night and it says with a full glass of water...do you have to drink water or oculd i just have a clear liquid like apple juice or something else of that sort...if someone can answer my questions that would be GREATT!! thank you

Yes, it's ok to have a relationship with a V fistula. I always encourage my husband to wash after contact as I'm likely to have germs from drainage there. Also, for us, it's even more important to urinate (as gyns suggest) and to wash soon after. Basically, if you have bacteria, stool, or drainage from the fistula, you can be moving it around. Yes, it can hurt but there are some great lubricants out there. By all means, this disease takes so much from us---if you can have the relationship in a safe, healthy way and you feel strong enough to do so, I say go for it!

As for taking 6mp, I took it in the morning with my pentasa and vitamins and breakfast. Was on it for several years.
