hernia surgery

Anyone have complications from hernia surgery because of their CD? Surgeon said my sm intestine was like hamburger, but hernia is at lg intestine and much lower.

hi john-

i noticed no one had responded to your question yet. I don't know about hernia surgeries. thankfully i have never had a hernia. but i did have a surgery to repair my fistula. I didn't work so well. The surgeon said that because of the CD my tissue was inflammed and not healthy. I'm guessing by your "hamburger" statement that you mean something like this. Anyways, the surgery didn't take because my tissue was mushy so the sutures didn't hold. My fistula's still open and we're waiting for the tissue to heal before we try again. Sorry I couldn't help more. Good luck

I dont know about complicatios the way you are talking about but I always wondered if somehow my inguenal (sp?) was related to my CD. My hernia surgery was 6 months before my CD Dx
