Last year was a total bust. I had a small bowel resection in Jan. and in June had a total hip replacement due in part to steroid use for the Crohn's. I lost my job due to so much time spent in the hospital. Well, a year has gone by and I thought it was safe to leave my house again. I have been in remission for an entire year. Got a job in July. Two weeks later I got a letter in the mail from my orthopedic surgeon. My hip has been recalled by the manufacturer and likely will have to be replaced again. I went in and had X-rays and some physical tests and sure enough - I'm one of the lucky 25% who need a new replacement. Enter a terrible flair. I have been on Pentasa, imuran and many supplements. Now I have been on pred for 2 weeks with no improvement. I'm really feeling low and desperate and not real sure which direction to turn. I have decided to just ignore the hip for now - I just can't face more surgery. But I'm really concerned that the Crohn's is not responding at all. Just wanted to vent a bit. Things have to get better - right?
