I hadn't seen my GI since I gave up gluten. I made an appt just to fill him in. He was shocked, thrilled, and amazed at how good I look and well I am doing. He even took the name of my naturopath to find out about his testing and lab. I wasn't sure what his reaction would be, but it was good to connect and let him know that with ALL the tests, drugs, and surgeries we went thru together I finally am better due to diet. he said he will keep writing me a script for glycolax and beyond that, we are done seeing each other. what an amazing ride! yp

Boy that is amazing! It says a lot that your GI wanted to get the name of your naturopath and the lab and tests he uses. That's wonderful!

So glad you are doing so very well!!! yeah

Good to hear both your success and the doctor's openness to the idea that it was diet that made the difference. Someone else reported using diet to gain remission and their doctor said "You may think that that was what did it." Really though, it is a result that you wish worked for everybody.

sweet!!! fantasitc news. reminded me of when i saw my gastro after not seeing him for about 8 months fixing myself on the maker's diet. he had the same response of shock and at the same time relief that i was able to find something to "fix" me. however he wasnt about to put his patients on the makers diet. i guess you cant win them all...

That's great to hear! Especially since I remember when you were going through the countless tests, etc. with no response, so I'm very glad that you found something that helps.

thanks you guys! I wasn't sure whether my doc would be happy or if he would not believe me, so I am glad for his reaction.

great for you. the dr was planning on putting me on mp6 or something like that

over a year ago. i went on the SCD diet and i went for a colonoscopy in april of 2008

and i was cleared of any cronh's . he was amazed. i did taper off the diet, and now

i experience severe bloating which makes me look 9 mons preg. i am going to go

back on the diet , i feel real good when im on it.

yp, out of interest, what symptoms were you having before you started the gluten-free diet? And what symptoms are you having now?

hey Ivy6, I had constipation, which I manage with glycolax and metamucil, but my main symptom was really severe pain in my upper right. It hurt constanting with each breath and I was taking pain meds. I was also really tired much of the time, and had no appetite. I couldn't eat any fresh veggies. now my energy level is great, I eat everything (except gluten) and the pain is so mild I only know it is there if I push on myself. I never need meds and feel super.
