Hey all!!! This weekend I made Ethipoian Chicken from the Raman Prasad cook book! Let me just say that it was absolutley delightful and very very very good! It tasted so Authentic. And Did not bother me one little bit!!!
It actually turned into a little adventure because one of the spices to make the Berber spice caost about $18.00!!! And the berber spice is a hastle to make so I looked up the ingridients to see how they varied from the SCD diet...and there was nothing different in the listed ingrediants than in the cook book. I think they give the spice recipe because its a specialty and propably difficult to find.
Anyhow I hade a epiphany and I marinated my chicken in lime and salt and grabbed the card keys and headed out into the night! I ran to the Ethiopian resteraunt about half a mile from my house...talked to the cook who sent me to the Ethipian market about 3/4 of a mile from the resteraunt where I got a bag of the berber spice for $8.00 and it will last for 2 years its so much! Then I found the the $18.00 cardamon spice for $1.00!!! YESSS I danced for joy....
When I got home I started cooking the dish...and realized that I didnt have Ghee but you can use regular butter as well...I simply looked at the ghee recipe and what ever was in the Ghee I added to the dish! LOL
It came out Fanstastic and I am having the last bit for lunch today!!!
I cant wait to make the next somthing special!
