really bad headaches

I never take aspirin....I just wait for the headache to go away.  This is the second year in a row that I have been having these wicked head pains that actually make me take aspirin.  The headaches will come and go for about a month, then be gone for many weeks.  I know I am dehydrating easier these last few weeks so that may be part of it.

I was wondering if low iron levels can cause it too.

My head hurts like a sinus pain in the facial area, but I also have that 2x4 to the back of the head feeling and heaviness on top of my head.  Basically my head is in a vice.  I also have never had migraines so that would not be it.

Hello,

I have been having the same problems.  Are you on Remicade?  I have been on it for about 4 years, the last two years on 4 week intervals.  I had a CTscan of the brain and on to have an MRI next.  I have been wondering if this is something from the Remicade.

 I have been on remicade for about a year now, and I also have bad headaches. The day after is pretty bad for me. I take pain pills. I see a pain management doctor.

No remicade for me. I am only on Pentasa and nutritional supplements

I'm on Pentasa also. I do know that Pentasa lists a side effect of headaches. Maybe that is the cause of your headaches(?).

Imuran used to give me headaches. Could be any of a number of things med-wise. If I'm gonna get a headache from Remicade it's usually the day of the infusion or the day after.

When I get a headache like that -- hangs on for days, light sensitive, etc. the thing that really works for me is this combo: aspirin, tylenol, and caffeine. Don't bother getting any excedrin, because that's all that's in it. Usually I only take one of each pill, and wash it back with coffee, tea or soda. If it's particularly bad, then I go two pills. Lay down in a dark room and doze for a little bit. That usually fixes me up pretty well.

Of course, run that little cocktail by your doc first. I talked to mine about it, and he didn't see any issue with it as long as the aspirin didn't give me trouble.

PS: drink lots of water/gatorade etc., as well. And I avoid the opiates when it comes to headaches -- tends to make them worse.

Hi I also get migrain headaches I take vicodine which helps. I get more in the cold weather.

I never used to get headaches at all, but a few years ago I started to get killer ones. I still haven't figured out what sets them off, but I'm pretty sure it must be related to something to do with the CD. Either a med side effect or an imbalance of some sort. But just because you have never had migraines in the past doesn't mean you don't have them now. You may have developed them as a side effect or due to aging. I have no family history of migraines on either side, but I have them now.
