sore cheeks

i woke up yesterday and my right cheek was swollen and sore to touch as the day went on my left cheek became swollen and sore. I checked my teeth and my jaw and the problem does not seem to be there. any ideas?

I don't see or feel anything that is what is making me so curious

is it normal to be on both sides of my mouth?

My mother had something like this happen when she was trying to give up smoking, both cheeks swelled etc and that was due to her chewing the nicotine gum continously. Are you chewing gum or something like that repetively, just a suggestion :)
