Slightly ironic since I've been on Humira for 3 months, however my areas are very small and concentrated (inside belly button and fold of ear). Got some tazaract (sp?) and a steroid cream to apply.

How many others here have psoriasis as well? My Derm said it's a very common disease to acquire with Crohn's, as much of their genetic information is shared (at least thats the jist of what I got). Makes sense Humira is used to treat both then...

(Also, I did not have an obstruction (after severe pain did go get an Xray at order of GI) but I've been going at the Miralax for the past three days with little results. Ugh. No more bananas! My GI said the Humira is working "too well" and I'm having the issues non Crohnies have...I guess that's one way to look at it!)

Just so you know - there have been added warnings of late to the biologic drug labels. Basically, while Remicade and Humira are being prescribed to treat psoriasis, there has been a lot of people develop psoriasis while on these meds. Also, I had to giggle when I read "Humira is working "too well" and I'm having the issues non Crohnies have." My GI prescribed Miralax at my last visit because my guts were "over healed" in his words. How strange for me to go from 25 years of duarrhea 5-20 times daily to only having a BM every 6-7 days.

Thanks Ides. I'll have to take a look at that article later.

The issues developed pre-Humira, but I wonder if they popped up while I was on Remicade...hmmmm...

I am one of the few who got a severe case of Psoriasis from Humira. Spent time in a psoriasis center getting phototherapy and baths with coal tar. It was no fun! If you type "Humira induced psoriasis" in the site search engine at the top of this page you'll get a discussion of some members who had similar problems. Wonder what it would take to get Abbott to list it as a side effect.

Hi Ides are you on the Humira?

Mkl11 Glad to hear you did not have a obstruction ,at least that helps releave your mind and you can concentrate on the C.Hope you two aren't puffed up like M&M's. I am picturing two little round people wadling on skinny little legs. Apple juce in the morning might help .I have a skin condition I have had on elbows and knees and it can get itchy, steriod cream makes a huge difference. lol gail

Sorry to hear about your skin condition! I don't know anything about Humira but I wanted to let you know there is a brand of oils and lotions for the body from "Oils of Aloha". I have a few friends who have noticed amazing results after using it. Good luck to you

Indigo....coal tar stinks doesn't it!

MKL-Haven't had a problem with the psorasis while on the Humira but it orginally showed up with a nasty vengence all over my body after Remicade and stayed with me about 9 miserable months. This year my skin has been the best it's been since I was a little girl and that was a very long time ago! I'm currently using a natural bristle bath brush with Cetaphil soap (non-soap cleanser) and Cetaphil lotion.

That's putting it mildly!
I take baths with an Aveeno product that contains mineral oil and oatmeal---sure keeps me lubricated.
Funny, you got psoriasis from Remicade and not Humira. Wonder if I should try Remicade.
