Well on top of trying to fight off a flare, I think my mom might leave my dad. She has been very depressed for awhile now but will not admit it. I am not very close with my mom and she hasn't told me anything about these plans but my dad confides in me. It is hard because I can't tell anyone in my family until it is official. My brother doesn't even know. Now I am worried about helping my dad afford to keep our house and possibly getting a second job to help him with this. I don't know what to do and I hate not having anyone I can talk to about this

chelsea_doll...I have had similar situations with my parents. Or, both sets of them rather. All you can do is be there for those that confide in you and take it one day at a time. If you need to rant here then please do so...I'm sure there will be other members along who have much to share as well.
I'm really sorry that this is a situation you are having to go through. I know it's very rough, but hang in there...

Hi I know it can be hard on people when there parents split up but hopefully you can get threw things as they happen and who knows maybe they will be happier people that might help with your worries. lol gail

I am sorry you are going thru this difficult time. I really think personally that it was unfair of your parents to put you in this position. This is a problem between your Mom and Dad, and you really shouldn't be one or the others confidant. I do agree with gachrons here is that maybe life will be happier for both of them once they apart. And I also agree, please do come here and vent. I know how difficult it is when your parents split up, but sometimes it is for the best. Sending big hugs and healing prayers your way.

Thank you, and I think the reason my dad is coming to me is because we have always been very close and he knows I see the way me mom has been acting lately towards him and me as well

Hi Chelsea Has your MoM any health issues that have made it hard for her to cope such as crohn's? Are you at the age where you are about to leave home just wandering if there is some reason why your Mom is acting different. Hang in there and try to be good to yourself. lol gail

No she doesn't have crohn's she has been like this for years now ( since menopause). She is extremely negative to me one minute then nice the next. i am 24 but i won't leave home if she leaves because my dad would not be able to afford to keep our house if I am not paying rent

I think she has depression, it runs in the family but she won;t get checked

Hi I know the menapause can be hard for me it was no sleep which doesn't help with moods, and pretty near burning up alot some women have a very difficult time with it. You could do some research on it but finding out from someone who has been there might help. Just remember though , do not worry too much or let yourself get sick over this. I have learned to try not to stress but I find the internet is great to help find info, perhaps there is a site for people who's Mom's are going threw menapause. lol gail

She started menopause about 4 years ago, the hot flashes and all other symptoms aregone, just the mood swings and depression are left

Hi I guess you are not able to talk to her about this are you? Just hoping that you are doing OK as I know my teen was upset when my relationship with her Dad was gone. It made for a bit of more peace for me sometimes it can be a strain being around a bad relationship. I am hoping that you have other things like friends or work that will give you other things to think about. Be hoping things improve for you. How is your flare doing any improvements ? lol gail

No, I am not as close with her as I am with my dad. As for the flare it is getting worse. Today vm's have been pure water feels like I am doing a prep lol
