Anyone done MoviPrep?

I have had 10+ colonoscopies and tried almost every prep, I found this Movieprep at a crohn's seminar/expo. I was thrilled as it seemed to be a huge change from the other preps out there. I tried it and I was dissapointed as I have lots of missing parts due to resection sugery and I just can not consume the large level of liquid that most preps require, the Movieprep says that you use less of the nasty prep solution, but it is deceptive as it amounts to almost the same as colitly. I did the Movieprep anyway, the Dr. said my prep results were far from being cleaned, and almost did not do the test.

I found out for myself that if I know I am going for a colonoscopy I eat minimal amouts of solids even days before the prep, my thought is less in than less to clean out, I end up needing less of the prep solution to get the job done, I just check the outcome in the bowl while doing the prep, when it's clear and no particals I stop drinking the prep, it cuts the intake down to about 1/2 to 3/4ths, hope this helps.

P.S. Nice to feel that you can speak openly about this kind of stuff here as most people are grossed out if you tell them what your doing.

It was a relief to hear I am not imagining things. I am a colon cancer survivor with two re-sections and having a colonoscopy every year. On Phspo soda I did well. Now that it is off the market, i will refuse other colonoscopies if i have to use MoviePrep! After half a dose the night before, my stomach was bloated and i nearly threw it all up. I did not go all that much. The next morning I could only get half down again and i knew there was a lot "in there." I told the gastro doc who didn't seem to pay much attention. He told me after the procedure, "I was not clean." I don't know if there were polops or lesons as there have been in the past. but worst of all i am still bloated. I think given the seriouness of my stage three caner (in remission) I should have been listened to.

I'm taking Moviprep right now! Ok, I'm pretty much done but I wanted to post my experiences for others who may need to do this. It tastes awful. It really does. And it gets worse. The first 8 ounces I drank were tolerable but it kept getting worse and it took me longer and longer to drink it down. By the time I had finished the first 24 ounces I was on the toilet. I didn't have any bloating or cramping and I only wanted to throw up from drinking the solution. By the time I had downed the entire first dose (all 32 ounces) I was producing nothing but liquid and I had watched it go from brown to pretty much yellow/clear which is what you want. Someone else described as "peeing out of your anus" which is pretty accurate. In the toilet all I see is a very pale yellow (almost clear) liquid. If I didn't know better I'd say it was urine.
I did drink another 16 ounces though, just to be on the safe side. I know I should have finished it all but there was no way I could do that and besides, I'd been producing only clear liquid for an hour. My rectum did start to burn from going so much but was okay once I stopped. I've been off the toilet about 20 minutes now and although I'll probably need to go again it is slowing down. Most of the time I could feel a movement coming and so although I pretty much sat on the toilet for about 45 minutes at first, I eventually was able to wander around and have time to get back if I needed to.

Overall, the (pause for a toilet break) experience wasn't bad except for drinking the Moviprep. I really hope I've drunk enough to be clean but considering the aim is to produce clear liquid I'd say I'm good to go (no pun intended).

Now, we're supposed to get about 10" of snow overnight so I am going to be really P'd off if they call and cancel my colonoscopy!!!!!!

MOVIPREP..... I  ALSO WAS TOLD TO USE MOVIPREP  BUT TO USE LUKEWARM WATER OR GATORADE NO PURPLE OR RED OR USE CRYSTAL LIGHT ICED TEA MIX TO DISSOLVE.fIRST TIME USING IT I USED GATORADE MADE IT TASTE VERY SWEET EASIER TO GET DOWN HAVE NOT HAD A REACTION YET HAS BEEN A HOUR.WILL LET YOU KNOW HOW I MADE OUT.aT CVS THEY ALSO TOLD ME I COULD PUT SOMETHING IN IT FOR IT S BAD TASTE DONT KNOW WHY YOUR DOCTORS DIDN'T TELL YOU THAT

                                                                                                                         

Here is my experience with moviprep
- Day before Colonoscopy
- 5 pm to 6 pm, drank 32 oz of moviprep solution, feel bloated
- it has a salty, lemon-lime taste, taste terrible in my opinion
- 6 pm to 7 pm, drank 10 oz of Magnesium citrate (another saline laxative), I guess doctor wanted to make sure
colon was going to be clean. has a slightly milk-like taste, better than moviprep
- 6:30 pm, first watery bowel movement
- watery bowel movements continue on and off roughly every 15 to 30 mins
- went to sleep at midnight
- woke up at 4 am and watery bowel movement continue
- 5:30 am to 6:30 am, drank 32 oz of moviprep solution, feel bloated
- 6:30 am to 7:30, drank a can of coke, this helped remove the moviprep aftertaste
- more watery bowel movements continue about every 5 mins, until 8:30 am, movements are yellowish and mostly clear
- arrived at doctor office 10 am
- during wait was worried that there would be more bowel movements but only had a one small one around 11:15
- 11:30 am, sedated and colonscopy start
- 12:00 pm, colonscopy done, no issues found, woke up as doctor was finishing procedure, woke up refreshed and ready to eat
Overall, the worst part was having to drink the moviprep and the bloated feeling
