help

hi im a 28yr old with crohns i have been sick for the past 1 1/2 yr's. i have been on alot of different meds and none of them have worked. i was on metho for about 4mo and it was working till i started to loose my hair and i was sleeping all day and night. being a single mom of a 4 and 6 yr old. sleeping all day is no good. unlike most of you who are loosing weight i put on 40lb in 3 mo. im so tired of crohns im ready to give up on meds and dr's. my BM is so hard i cant go or so watery i cant control it. please help

Hi Have you had your B-12 checked as it helps me at times to perk up a little. I too think a short course of pred. might help ,I lost alot of hair but it grew back .Not aware of what meds you tried so not much help with that but there are times when we feel discouraged so your not alone there. I eventually had surgery which helped me .Has your Dr. recommended something for the constipation? Sometimes the stool don't come out and just water seems to get by it. Where is your crohn's located? I know little ones that age are busy people.. lol gail

Wow. It sounds like you are going through so much! This disease is so hard, I cannot imagine going through all of this while also being a single mom with two young children! I hope that you give yourself credit for being able to be a mom with all of this going on. I wonder if perhaps surgery would be the best option for you right now. I know it would be hard to find childcare while healing from the surgery. Do you have any supports to help with the kids? I wonder if you could get a short term childcare subsidy while you heal, it might be worth contacting your local social services to find out. Depending on where you live, they may know of resources to help out.
