My Mom has Crohn's - Mucus Problem

I have UC and I told my mom about this forum, so she gave me a question to ask...

She has had Crohn's for 34 years, has had several flares, but is now in remission. She is on oral Entocort (1 pill nightly), however sometimes suffers from "goo poo" for lack of a better term and mucus when she least expects it (standing up for example).

Any ideas?

From what I understand the mucus is generated when you are in a flare. The flare may not be that bad and the mucus may only show up when the "bad" foods are eating....causing the crohns to react.

Do you mean mucus in her stool or mucus leaking from her anus when she stands up? I get lots of mucus in my stool but no leaking. The mucus is part of the inflammation, I believe. If it is leaking she should tell her GI as there may be something else happening.
