Remicade wearing off early

Ive been on Remicade for 8 months now. It seems like each infusion wears off quicker than the last one. Its been barely 5 weeks since my last infusion and my elbow and knee have been swollen and sore for the last two days. I should also mention I have arthritis from Crohn's. This is very frustrating since it works so well for awhile. Thanks for letting me vent.

That happened to me too, and my infusions were moved up to every 6 weeks. Good luck!

Just curious, how are the 6 week infusions working for you? I am going to ask my GI about doing that. I did mention it to him but he seemed reluctant so it hasnt been brought up since.

My gi prefers to up my dose and keep me at 8 weeks instead of moving them closer together. So far, it has worked for me.

Go to 6 weeks. It helped me so much! Be persistent and take charge of your health!

Had to change mine to 6 weeks as well going good so far..

My doc increased dosage first until I maxed out, then shortened the time periods between dosages. I am currently at 7 weeks.

I was at every 5 weeks for my Remicade, but my GI put the dose to the max and I'm now at every 6 weeks.  I've noticed that every cycle is different.  Some cycles I go all 6 weeks with barely any pain.  This cycle I'm in a lot of pain already and I still have 6 days until infusion.  You should talk to your doc about the dose and the timing.  Take care!
