Imuran vs Humira

I have had 2 flares this year and my doc just told me he wanted me to start on Imuran. I am currently taking Pentasa and Entocort (I just weaned off of Prednisone).

In 08 he had asked me to consider Humira but I started doing very well.

I have been online most of the night looking at these meds and I am freaking out. I am 34 and the mother of two little girls. I read that with Imuran there is nausea and fatigue. I can barely stay awake now! And the risk of cancer?? My doc had warned againest this... I kept telling myself he had to give me worst case scenerios, right? How long do you stay on Imuran? And the whole TB thing with Humira doesn't sound great either...

Does anyone have any personal experience with going on Imuran while taking Pentasa and Entocort? He said he would keep me on all of the meds for a few months and then drop the Entocort and the Pentasa. Has anyone had a GOOD experience with this?

I guess I am just angry and sad this morning and tired of being tired. I actually feel decent now after the round of Pred but the doc wants to try to avoid another flare.

Any advice? I'm feeling hopeless...

I am also 34 and have two little girls. I started Imuran a few years ago and have had no side effects. It changed my life for the better until this year. I started getting sick again and just started Humira today. If I respond well, my Doc will take me off the Imuran in 6 months. My girls always knew where to find me, in the bathroom or in the bed. I was afraid to leave my house. My quality of life was very poor. I did not want to take the more serious drugs, but I wanted my life back. I am crossing my fingers that the Humira works!
