I had another scope done this morning and he found active disease even though i have been on remicade for 2 years and now switched to humira.He thinks that the tnf blockers just don't do anything for me.I have to go next friday to meet with him to discuss our next plan of action!!What else is there I can't take the oral meds due to reactions and the tnf blockers aren't working.What else is there???

Methotrexate? That can be given by injection.

Do you live in the US? If so, there are some trials that you may be able to enter. Prochymal, especially, sounds promising.

I'm sorry that the TNF blockers don't seem to work for you. There is Tysabri, which works as an α4-integrin blocker. However, there is a risk of getting a brain infection called PML. The manufacturers measure the risk at 0.1% chance.

Hi I know how disappointing it is to fail a med and your Dr. must have something in mind.. have you tried Imuran? At least you will be seeing him soon and hopefully others here will be able to help with other med suggestions.. How have you been feeling lately? lol gail

What about Cimzia? That is another one given by injection. As you said you have a hard time with oral meds, maybe that might be another suggestion. I can relate to having problems with oral meds, luckily I am maintained with only Asacol, but many oral meds and supplements upset my gut too.
