So I have been on Humira for about a month no but I haven't seen any real changes in my symptoms and pain relief. Anyway I have had a few episodes of not being able to breathe very well. These instances have occurred when I play basketball and I have to stop or I feel like I could pass out. Has anyone had anything like this as well??

I started Humira 3 weeks ago and I've experienced feeling a little bit off balance for a few days and each time felt like I was getting a flu, but it stopped pretty quickly.

But, I have experienced shortness of breath after going to the bathroom in the morning. I'd spend an hour to an hour and a half in the bathroom and then couldn't be able to breathe normally for 3-4 hours. It was like that for months. And one time like two years ago I went rollerblading and came back home, couldn't breathe properly and I felt like I was going to faint, everything was spinning around me a little. So maybe it's not Humira but CD and anemia? Does this happen only when you play basketball?

Hello,I would call your doctor,you should not be short of breath.They are finding more side effects from these TNF blockers,I went off of mine,

,and went back to my original regimen of Asacol and Imuran,not saying they aren't good for some,but again,shortness of breath is not  a normal side effect for anything. Be careful and good luck wink   Don't mean to ramble,but never tell a nurse your'e short of breath!!! HaHa turn

Yes it has only happened when I have played basketball and I'm pretty well in shape for not playing like high school basketball so I don't think that its anything like that.

you being in shape is of no importance because when CD hits you you lose a lot of vitamins, become anemic, and things liek his happen. check all of the options. I'm sorry if it's Humira :(

Thank you all for your insights. I went to the doctor the other day and I had a chest X-ray done to see that I didn't have an infection in my lungs or heart. It cam back negative so thats a real relief. My GI is really concerned about it though. So he told me that as soon as I have it again i need to get in to see him so that we can do something about it and try something else.

As far as I remember, the anti-TNF medications can cause a drop in blood pressure. Perhaps that's what's causing your breathlessness? Did they check your b.p. at the doctor's?

The last time i went to the doctor my blood pressure was perfect.
