Hi, i was just wondering if anyone else has had heart palpatations? My story is, i am now 25 i had my first palps on a full bus (very embarresing, and scary.) i was only around 18. I had them around 8 times lasting a couple of minutes over a couple of weeks, i finally went to my GP who said i may need an operation for a small heart murmur then to a cardiologist, i told the cardi Dr about heart murmur, he said i do not need an op, so i had ECG'S, i wore a holter monitor, which didnt show anything, was told i had a condition (forget the long name) but as he explained my heart pools with a small amount of blood in the wall artery area and is not fully pumped out properly, but was told i would not need any meds or ops or a follow up, he also said it could be stress, i was so young i guess i ignored it and thought i would be fine and it didnt happen again for years until once when i was 24 and i was around 7 months pregnant with my first child, i was at the hair dressers and it only lasted a minute or two at the time i didnt think much of it and put it down to the fact i was laying in an odd position with a huge stomach getting my hair washed in a basin. Anyway i wanted to give birth at a birthing centre not a hospital and because i thought i had a heart problem as i was told it may have been risky because there was only midwives and no DRs there, they asked for my files from the cardi and ya know what? There was nothing sent out about it, just a letter saying im fine, that it was investigated and that i would be fine to have my child there. Firstly i would like to know how this can happen? How can i be told that i have a heart condition and then told in a letter that i do not and i am fine? I am so frustrated, anyway because i only had the time at the hairdressers and was pregnant i didnt bother looking into it again even after the letter from the cardi, the reason i am writing is i was at the show today and i didnt go on any rides but i started having these palpatations again, it went for longer than it ever had before, around 8-10 minutes of hard, very fast thumping and was extremely scary, i sat down and it faded after a while. I guess i am more concerned now that i have a 14 month old son. I do not want him left if something happens to me. Its now a few hours later and my chest is still hearting is this normal and can anyone tell me what has helped them to stop these scary episodes or try and prevent a few at least. Sorry its so long and Thanks
