Oh my gosh! I can hardly sit. I have been struggling to have BM's the past few days, and now the pain is horrendous! I just resumed taking Miralax. I am also using Hydrocortisone suppositories (Youch!!) and Hydrocortisone cream. Nothing is helping. Does anyone have any suggestions? Also, can hemorrhoids/fissures cause your legs to ache? I can't stop rubbing them. I'm miserable.....
I feel like I am being stabbed with a knife, and my legs are killing me..... Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.....

If you have time, sitz bathes should help a little. If you are working it's hard to make the time.

Hey Crohns pt mom. I am so sorry to hear about
your pain. I too had hemmies, fissures, and an absess all at the same time a couple months ago. I was due for my Remicade and when I got it they cleared up a bit. I bought those Preperation-H wipes and they were so much easier on the hiney than the softest TP. And they have this cream on the same isle as the wipes called Tucks anusol cream, it works wonders for the pain.
I hope you get to feeling better soon.
God Bless.

Plenty of sitz baths with epsom salt, maybe get an RX for your hemmies or some OTC meds for them, you can get medicated numbing gel from your doc by RX, can't think of the name of it but I know it's out there. Feel better soon, I know the discomfort you're in, you could also gently rub some extra virgine olive oil on your bottom as well, it's soothing and healing.

I use a dibucane cream. I can get it over the counter but have to ask the pharmacist for is since they keep it in the back. My surgeon recommended it since it has a numbing agent in it and also sooths and creates a barrier against moisture. I have fistula that drains there and sometimes get small hemmies and have had a couple fissures from excessive activity in the bathroom. I live by that stuff. Also when it is really bad a take a tucks pad and fold it and just tuck it between the cheeks and leave it till the next bm. works great

fissure cure
1 go to chemists buy a small jar of manganese
permanganate also called condees crystals
2 also buy a tube of haemorrhoid ointment you
only need the applicator which comes with the
ointment
3 take a new sterile handkerchief or similar
piece of cloth
5 wrap the cloth around the applicator from your ointment so its around the applicator
and also covers the tip as well make the tip
not so sharp by taking off a small amount to blunt it before wrapping
6 take approx a teaspoon of the crystals you bought and put it in a clean jar about
the jam jar size now add water slowly until you have a mix
which is like pale ink
7 get a condom and go all around it making small holes maybe 10 or so all around
8 now take your cloth wrapped applicator and dip it in to the crystal mixture until well soaked
and then slide the condom over the whole thing
until it covers the wet cloth.
9 now test the holes by squeezing the condom a bit to make sure it leaks out if not put more mix in to the condom to make it wetter inside
10 put an elastic band around the end of the condom to close it off
11 smear some vaseline or baby oil on the condom
12 insert condom in to anus a short distance
wiggle it about
a little and the crystal mix
will leak in to your fissure area and enter the
fissure, do this once a day for 2 or 3 days
my fissure was pain free in 2 days and and
forgotten about
after 3 days, my mix i used
was almost like ink color paler mix may
take a day or two longer to fix it, check with
a doctor before doing it is good advise, but
this will work if your fissure gets the mix
i was told it would be with me for a long
time without surgery i didnt want to go
through all that pain and this is what i did
exactly as shown, my doctor pointed me
to the manganese permanganate but didnt
show me how to do it he said sit in it, im
sure you see why that wouldnt work, so i
devised this sytem after a lot of thought
and i hope you get a fast cure from this
tip and no more pain, also think about
caused the fissure, eat fruit drink water
myself i make sure i have porridge of a
morning it seems to be a good habit
and its made with lots of water and some
skim milk
good health

George, thank you so much for the informative post. I've never heard of such a technique before. You may have an invention on your hands, lol! I'll need to google manganese permanganate, as I have never heard of it before. Blessings, Julie

hi there
hope you discovered manganese permanganate ok lol yes its used as an antiseptic by a lot of doctors on toenails and things like that, very strong dye effect and wont remove too easy so thats why it fixes the fissure
in my case i couldnt go to work so i had to work out something fast, anyway after 3 visits to the doctor i said how long is this going to be he said he did know people who had them for years hahahahaha so i said no way im gonna wait any more, he said ok well i know one cure we used in india and you have to get manganese permanganate and sit in a bowl of it, yes how does that get it in to the fissure? so i went away and had a big brainstorming and then i came up with what i have told you on here, actually though i must confess i did it without the condom i just put vaseline on a new silky handkerchief soaked it in the liquid and put vaseline all over the
handkerchief and used it that way and it worked in 2 days i was fine to go to work, and before that i couldnt put a foot on the floor lol, i dreamed up the condom because i was thinking it would be easier for most people to do it that way, but i can assure you it works get that mixture in to the right place and you will be out dancing in no time
i will continue to tell everyone i can on the forums because i just want to stop there pain and save them money on all sorts of cures that go on for ever...
all the best

You should see a doctor to make sure what is the right medicine you should take.

Lots of good tips here, but are you sure they are Hems and not crohns skin tags? I only ask becase I thought I had Hems and treated them as such until a dr took a look and said nope, it was not Hems, it was tags and a giant fissure that was causing all my troubles. I just think a dr's look at them might help you in case they haven't been probably dxed. I have participated in a few threads here about
the debate between Hems and Tags and there is some good info on that as well if u wanta give it a search. One poster shared a link with pics of the difference between Hems and tags which is useful. However if you know for sure they are Hems then you can disregard my post :)
Best of luck with the pain, I have been through a lot as well in that area, including a major abcess in the rectum required a chunk of my bottom being removed surgically... yikes! I like to use sitz baths, creams and tucks wipes when the bottom end is so painful and I can't sit. I hardly ever use TP as it makes things worse in my opinion.
All the best
