I have given up wheat it seems to do bad stuff on my joints, pain goes away if i don't eat wheat. Also it almost stops the bleeding from my colon.
But the food that is the most toxic for me is Pizza :S And i just had one for dinner :s looking forward to the incredible joint pains tomorrow .
But I was worth it I think, I will tell you tomorrow if I still feel the same way :)
What is the most toxic food for you ?

I, personally, avoid regular milk like the plague. Organic stuff doesn't seem to be too bad, but just regular ole' 2% blue-top milk is like cryptonite for me!
I'm still loving the gluten-free improvements, and I even found a wicked-tasty brownie mix that is just SINFUL. Trouble is, what do you want with a good, warm brownie? A BIG ole glass of milk, of course. Rice milk just does NOT cut it. Ah well. At least I have the brownies!!!

MM, I don't have a recipe - it's actually a pre-made mix bag from the grocery store. I'm lazy like that.
The brand is "Namaste". It comes in a brown and purple paper bag. MMMmmmm so very tasty. If your grocery store doesn't have it, Whole Foods always does. It runs between 5 and 6 bucks I think, but it is so worth it, and it makes a regular 9x13" pan's worth.

I have depleted my diet of almost anything tasty at this point, and it was well worth it! Since removing ALL grains, sugar, and dairy products, my life has changed for the best! But as far as the very worst thing I could eat... Hmmm, well, sugary things make me sick almost immediately. I LOVE ice cream, but having a bowl of that stuff is self-inflicting pain on myself! I will do soy ice cream occasionally, but that doesn't always sit right w/me either. Oh well, and to think I have always loved baking and once thought of being a pastry chef! Ha! That would be torture, I'm sure.

French fries always did me in. I think the problem was that I'd eat too many, at the neglect of whatever else I ordered. I used to love to drink milk too, and would usually have 3 cups a day. But right before I started SCD, it started to make me feel kind of bloated. But I'm with you patientspiders, whenever you have something like a brownie or
cookie, there's got to be a nice glass of milk to go with it!

Broccoli is my bad food. I loved broccoli as a kid, and if it didn't bother me, I could eat it just about
every day. My body hates it though, it runs right through me, wreaking havoc and creating pain on it's way.

Just Starbucks coffee drinks and hot cocoa. I'm fine with both from other places.

Hi, I have had Crohn's and Colitis for 30 years and have only followed this diet for the past year. I eat no gluten, no wheat products whatsoever, no dairy of any sort, and no fresh vegetables and fruit. Of course living in South Florida, that's a killer about
the fresh fruits and and vegetables! I am on Remicade, liada, opium and pamine for the Crohn's and Colitis and in all these years I have never been in remission. There have been times where I have had fewer trips to the potty but the GI is still trying to find the right combination of meds. But I do really believe in the diet because I know, for example when we used to go out to eat, if something was cooked in regular butter, I got really sick and had stomach pain in addition to all else. I also get B12 shots monthly and take Calcium, Vit D, Lovaza (fish oil), Flora Q, Biotin, Iron, and Centrum Liquid Vits with minerals. It is really difficult not eating any foods with gluten or lactose but I really believe it is worth it.
PS We never go out to eat anymore because it just isn't worth it for me. It hurts too much!!

Green bell peppers will cause me to flare within a half an hour after eating them. They are the one thing I know I absoluetly have to stay away from.

Romaine lettuce - actually all lettuce - even one-half leaf on a sandwich. I have recently discovered that young, very tender leaves of red or green leaf lettuce is okay in small amounts.

Pretty much any coffee does me in. Ditto for tea and cola - that is, anything with caffeine.

DAIRY DAIRY DAIRY... I had a bowl of cereal yesterday for breakfast, idk what I was thinking! But I felt it all day :( also, peanut butter, anything with coconut oil in it, or seeds in/on it, pork, fried foods....
Ides - in place of lettuce, I've found that field greens or spring mix, or spinach work well as a substitute!

I have to avoid beans, corn, nuts, mushrooms and anything that doesn't digest well. I am like you, I have the arthritis from Crohns and usually pizza, hamburger, and most fatty meats cause my arthritis to flare big time but..........I still indulge myself occasionally. I look at it this way, I love good food and the stuff that bothers me the most is usually my favorite stuff but I'm going to treat myself to it no matter what it wants to do to me. There is a pizza place here in town called Maria's Pizza. It has been around for over 50 years and has by far the best pizza I have ever eaten. I know when I eat it I'm going to pay for it but I can't imagine life without it so "poo" on Crohn's disease. lol. By the way, sometimes if I'm very lucky I can get away with it and not get sore joints so it's sort of like gambling and I love a good poker game. Best wishes, Tony
