Thanks Jenn, unfortunately yes I do have arthritis, but this is a new symptom and it is deep throbbing bone pain and towards the middle. I have fractured this area before, but dang this hurts and it is not broken.

Yes, I experience this too and have many diagnoses and tentative diagnoses to explain it.
How are you sleeping, Navy? Is fibromyalgia a possibility?

What meds are you on? Do you get regular blood work? When was the last time you got blood work done?

I get bone pain in my left thigh and sometimes it's so bad it goes down the back of my knee and into my foot. I've found that it's worse when I'm on higher doses of prednisone.

Hi Guys, I am in a similar position as I have been diagnosed with Fibromyalgia as an outgrowth from the Crohn's and Colitis. I have pain in my neck, knees, shoulders, back and even my ankles. I was hoping the Remicade would help and the Rhumatologist has me on 60mgs of Cymbolta and 2 weeks ago he gave me 4 shots of Cotisone in my neck and back but that didn't seem to do much. I take so much medicine for the Crohn's including 24 drops of Opium a day so one would think something would help with the pain but so far nothing. On good days, I work out as much as I can and I find that swimming is the best but when I spend as much time as I do in the potty, that's not always possible.
Meds include: Remicade, Lialda, Opium, Pamime, Cymbalta, Crohn's, Colitis, Fibromyalgia and depression
Atacand, for high blood pressure,
Topamax, Neurontin, Lovaza, migraines
Lipitor
Synthroid, for and under active throyoid

MM -
Now that I have full blown CD arthritis, it seems every bone I have injured, most especially the vertebrae I fractured 14 years ago, hurt like holly heck. It's a constant throbbing pain, especially when there's weather pressure changes. I've been slathering myself with an NSAID cream that we call the "stinky cream". It helps a some.

Navy, if I were in your shoes, with deep pain in a bone that was previously fractured, I would make sure I got an MRI of the painful area. Avascular necrosis occurs not only from steroid usage but is an extraintestinal manifestation of CD. I vividly recall the pain when my femoral heads died - not something I would care to do again.

For bone pain - Oste
openia - see:
Recent research reveals how important Vitamin D is in Oste
openia treatments!
. It is interesting to note that the article says that people living North of the 42nd parallel (or South of the Southern 42nd parallel) do not get enough vitamin D in winter. This is not to say that vitamin D is the solution to the problem - just that it is a simple thing to try with few hazards associated with it. Ask your doctor about
the article.
