Hi everyone,

since having my first infusion on monday i just can't stop eating does remi do this? i haven't had an appetite for months now i can't get enough food down me!!! glad though as i need to put at least 3 stone on to get to my normal weight, at this rate i will be over weight. I'm so glad i opted for remi i have felt really well since tues loads of energy, no aching joints, please let it continue this way HOPE everyone is ok enjoy the weekend Bev x

I don't know if binge eating is a side effect of remicade. I have been taking it since November, but I too have noticed that I am always eating. I have put on 60 pounds since January 1 of this year. Interesting thought, I will have to do some research and keep away from my snack drawer.

I have had 2 infusions so far and I have found that I eat a whole lot less now... it really kinda made me lose my appetite. But just like all things Crohn's - no two are alike :)

I have had six remicade transfusions and have had absolutely no change in appetite. It is always strong for me.

I noticed quite an increase in my eating once I went on Remicade. However, I was down about 30 pounds and must have been malnourished. I've gained back all of my weight and my appetite continues to be good, although no where near as hungry as when I first went on it. (I think I've had 5 infusions now?) But man, I couldn't get enough food when I first went on it!

I've had 7 infusions so far and cannot stop eating! Thanks to Remicade I'm feeling better than ever and have so much energy. I have been underweight for the past 10 years so I didn't mind the binge eating. But now I can't seem to stop. It's like my body is trying to make up for all the years it was malnourished. If this continues I'll be overweight soon. My girlfriends think it's funny when I make comments about my weight......"welcome to the real world" is what they tell me. I think it's retaliation for all those years I could eat whatever I wanted and never gained weight. They conveniently forget that I spent 10 years attached to my bathroom!! But I'll take the weight gain over being sick any day! :-)

thanks for all your replies i will never moan again about being overweight when i get there!!! have battled for ages trying to put weight on. wishing you all well for now the future Bev x
