Has anyone tried double dose of Humira and did it work. My doc is recommending that I go to 80ml every two weeks instead of 40ml every two weeks.

I'm not...I'm seven weeks in and I now take 1 shot every other week...still waiting for it to work miracles....good luck!

Hi,

I don't take a double dose every two weeks, but I do have weekly injections now.  It seems to be working out good for me so far.  Have you tried weekly injections?

Are you taking 40 ml every week. I am currently taking 40ml every two weeks and my doctor is wanting me to change to 80ml every two weeks. Did you go from a single dose to double dose and could you tell the difference.

When I was on it, I was on the drug study. over 100 weeks. I took 80ml every week. no issues. it was better than the same dosage every two weeks... but still not enough to get me off of the steroids. so i stopped taking it (switched to tysabri).

Sorry to bring this up to the top again, but I was wondering if anybody else is taking 80mg of Humira every two weeks? :-)

I was on the normal dose for a year, felt great, and now I am going to shots once a week since my UC has flared badly, we'll see what happens. GL!

I used to do a double dose, but I would just do a shot every week, instead of bi-weekly.  I had an allergic reaction to it though.

I am on it weekly now - 40mg each week. Guess that would be a double dose? It's made a big difference in how I feel! I was taking 40mg biweekly for 2 years.

I do one dose every other week, but it took several months for me to see any results at all.

I was just approved today by my insurance company for 80 ml every two weeks. Will see how it works, I am in a semi flare now. Hopefully it will make a difference. Have any of you had any side effects from double dose?
