I met a cronnie today, but didnt even know she had crohns for about 2 hours of being with her. She was wearing a hemp teeshirt, thai fisherman pants, no shoes, long dread locks. After a long chat she told me she had 2 surgeries 8 years back, but none of the drugs were helping so she switched to a more holistic approach and radically changed her diet. After a few months she stopped taking her drugs all together being fed up with them, she said she faired amazingly well, her pain was almost completely gone, no d or anything! SO by now you can imagine my interest was peaked, she started into the usual hippie rant about how being green and loving the earth.... yadda yadda... if you eat right, organic, wholesome food, your body will treat you right. She said her only problem was that she had lost a great deal of weight and had absolutely no appetite and found it very difficult to eat. Her doctor a well renowned GI recommended a 'green' medicine (hope im not breaking any rules posting this if I am lock it up, but its legal medicinally here in ontario and considered a pharmaceutical distributed by the government), being the hippie she is (wonderful lass at that!) agreed to give it a shot. As this little flashback (in my mind) came to an end she continued to tell me how much it had helped, in very very small amounts and only once or twice a week when she really needs it.
Has anyone on this board had any experience with the aforementioned treatment for appetite, or pain even? (i dont think this is against board rules, but if it is i understand, just seeking some answers on the subject and this is really the only place:/ )
