Hi Skins
.
Really, we've had people on this forum who had no side effects from pred. We've had people who had some side effects, but who who had brilliant results with steroid therapy and decided that the benefits outweighed the problems that arose from taking the med.
We've also had people who suffered horrible side effects for nothing, experiencing no real improvement in their Crohn's symptoms. And we've had a few very unfortunate people who've developed allergic reactions to pred, or have developed psychosis and other very, very distressing symptoms, and are understandably reluctant to take the med again.
As with all medications, we need to know how it affects *our own body*, and decide for ourselves whether the benefits (if any) are worth suffering the side-effects (if any). Each person experiences a different range of benefits and side effects, so this decision needs to be an individual one, made in consultation with medical staff.
Ivy.
