yeah its alright, the only prob with it is that cuz its powder based, it can make ur mouth taste horrible after drinkin it, so resorted to taking a toothbrush and a mini tube of toothpaste around with me! the best on is the banana one, but i lurrvee banana's!

ps. Have you had a fungal infection in your mouth before? Would you be able to recognise the symptoms?

Still, I think it might be good just to mention it in passing, if you do have a drs appt soon. Are you on steroids (prednisolone, prednisone, entocort) at all?

Writer's right... and if the toothbrush doesn't do the trick, you could try lightly scraping your tongue with a spoon. Don't press too heavily, or you might hurt yourself, but sometimes a spoon gets rid of what the toothbrush can't.

I did have another Mastercheffy thought: maybe you could throw some yeast into you Modulen and ferment it, and turn it into an alcoholic drink. Also, why not just pour your chocolate Modulen into a small glass and tell people you're drinking Bailey's?

I bet it would bubble up really well if you added yeast, kind of like a mini volcano! Maybe you could use the result as a bread starter. (Like ivy, all in jest.)

The general rule is not to add anything except flavor packets that are specially designed to go with it. Also, flavoring agents like mint extract and peppermint extract typically have an alcohol base, which would definitely not be a standard component of Modulen! There's also the question of whether the two solutions (the extract and the formula) might react in some way when mixed together; probably not, but I'm no food chemist. That said, I doubt that mixing in a small amount of a flavoring of some sort on an occasional basis would do much harm, but I wouldn't make a regular practice of it if you are supposed to be using the formula exclusively for a few weeks. There'd be the question of whether what you were adding might affect the stability of some of the vitamins or minerals or cause the solution to clump, or who knows what.

That sounds frustrating. Some thoughts. First, how much are you drinking calorie-wise? If you're still hungry, you need to drink more. Adequate quantity is very important for it to help you. Regarding the visits to the loo, have you tried drinking more slowly, say one can per1/2 hour? That can often help. If neither of these things apply, it may just not be working for you. Sometimes people respond to one type of formula but not another. There's no way of predicting in advance. However, you might want to try switching formulas, to one of a distinctly different type (for example, an amino-acid based elemental formula as opposed to the whole-protein formula you are using). One isn't any better than the other, but one may work better for a given individual.
