Nervous as heck but hope it does provide some relief for a few years. And maybe a few bites of peanut butter..ha! Any advise to help out? I have read some previous post regarding walking. After all settles down my GI and surgeon told me I should be able to eat all of the things I havn't been able too. Are they just saying this or coming from REAL Crohns people is this true?

This website is a HUGE blessing and I thank you all for your input!

Hi Amy,

I haven't had that surgery so I can't give any insight or suggestions. But I can give you lots of encouragement and prayers for a quick recovery. Praying also for you to have the joy of eating huge mounds of all of your favorite foods!!! Let us know how you do as soon as you can. Take care!

Hi Amy,

Good luck with the surgery.  Are you having a resection?  My daughter has Crohn's, had one four and a half years ago and has been in remission ever since.  She takes Immuran as a maintenance drug.  She decided to have the surgery after having 3 flairs in 18 months.  She decided to not eat rich foods, though I'm not sure if they would bother her if she did have them.  She basically has a normal diet.  She has a lot of energy.  The surgery gave her her life back and I hope you also have good results.

Good luck on your surgery tomorrow. I was able to eat a lot more after my surgery. I just can't over do it.

So sorry you have to have a surgery my thoughts and prayers come your way for a healthy speedy recovery. My wishes would be that you'll be able to eat what you like and you never have any more bad times through this crohns in the future. Take care of you the best that you can.

Hi Amy, by the time you get this message you would of probably had the surgery But i would just like to wish you a speedy recovery and hope that you get many many..... years of remmision I ate anything and everything after my 1st op  (not straight away a few weeks after) it was great to eat a juicy orange with no pain after  eating it!!!!!  Let us know how your getting on.

Sending good wishes for your sugery and I hope it brings you to a long long remission. They do tell you afterwards you can eat anything you want, but take it slow and allow your system to heal some before you go to crazy with new foods. Slowly add things back into your diet.

Surgery went well. I am now waiting for things to start moving. There is abdominal sounds finally! They took out 8 inches and said I had a lot of stricturing and inflammation causing the obstruction. Thank you all so much for your help! GI doctor says he would still like me to be on Humira or something in a few months.

I am so happy your surgery went well. I hope and pray this surgery brings you to a long long remission. But remember to walk as much as you can, that helps to get things to get moving.
