I tried acupuncture for joint pain, and indirectly for CD. I was really pleased with the results for the joints, but really never noticed any help with the CD. I can't take any traditional meds for my joints, so my Rhuemy recommended an acupuncturist. I hate needles and am not a big believer in eastern medicine, but I gave it a shot. It took a few sessions, but it made a big difference. He also helped with colds and headaches, plus it was nice just to sit and relax for an hour. It can be quite costly, so I would recommend looking for a community acupuncture clinic. You can do a web search for one near you. They aren't as private, but the cost is significantly lower. Instead of being in a private room, you are in a lounge chair with a screen separating the patients. When my acupuncturist changed from a private practice to a community clinic the cost went from $60 an hour to $15. Huge difference. I'll give up a little privacy for that. Its not like you have to undress, you are still in all your clothes and you are still behind a curtain, but you might hear some talking. Other people have tried it for CD and should be along shortly, so maybe they will have better results for you. But I say it can't hurt to give it a try, its not invasive or destructive.
