Hey Val,
the thing with x-ray and scan and ultersounds by my experince, never can see or tell anything. I had crohn's for 10 years before they diagnosed me, because they were only doing x-ray's, scans and blood test.
I'll just speak of the last 6 months. I've been in the hospital 5 different times with flare ups, throwing up for hours with blood. They do blood test it says I'm not even having a flare (like all my other blood test come) they do an x-ray they see nothing, same with scans. So is someone saying I don't have crohn's because they never were able to see it threw these test? No I really do have crohn's and for me the only way to see problems e.i ulcers, weather or not the crohn's has spead and of course blockage will have to be done by scope. I was diagnosed with ulcer's in my stomach, I had it for 6 years altogether. They were never ever able to tell me I had an ulcer through x-rays and scans. Only by scope. (this was 3 half years after I was diagnosed with CD, they found the ulcers threw scope again)
As much pain it may be I'm assuming you must atleast try to do a scope if no other test are showing things. I do understand if you have a full blockage they wont be able to pass the scope threw, but now they know you have a blockage, right? I'm just guessing here, never had a blockage and done scope. I'm not sure I even have a blockage. It could be overgrowth bactira in the small bowel. I heard it's the same syptoms as a partial blockage, or can be caused by one. This disease is confusing and fustrating!!!
May I ask how you dealt with your blockage? did you need surgery?
Key thing, are you feeling better now Valarie3?
