I think my problem is that I've been constipated. After an additional 44 oz of Miralax laced liquid my poop if finally clear. I'm really hungry though. I can't wait to eat tomorrow night.

Ohhh I feel your pain, I could never handle the prep either, used to always throw up so had to have anti nausea medication before I started. But now I never have to have a colonoscope again, cause I dont have a colon anymore lol. It sure has its pluses having an ileostomy :-). Hope all goes well for your scope, keep us posted

Jodi -- sorry you've had a bad time with prep. Sunday must have been "prep day", I made it a little over half way on the gatorade/miralax and promptly threw up. Told the nurse this yesterday and she said they always tell people to stop drinking prep if they've thrown up (didn't bother to tell her I went awol and didn't use the Golytely script). I thought Gatorade would be more tolerable but that volume of fluid in that amount of time just didn't go over well.

Let us know how your scope goes.

My GI actually told me not to drink Gatorade during preps because she said that the sugar in it will make you more nauseous if you throw up easily. Not sure if this is scientifically true or not, but it makes sense to me, sugary drinks won't help me when I know I'd have a rough time to begin with.

I figured it was the sugar. I usually drink G2 cause it has less sugar but my market only had purple and red. For yesterdays additional prep I mixed it in 64 oz of diet iced tea. Much better. I only had to drink about 40 oz to get to the pale yellow watery bm phase. Of course this morning I'm still peeing out my butt, but only clear liquid and mucous. This scope better find something, even if its only IBS because my lower GI system has been seriously out of whack for the past month and a half.

How did everyone elses scopes go?

Glad to hear you made it through this prep w/out nausea. I never thought of the sugar factor, I always assumed it was volume of fluids. Anyway, my scope showed no changes colon looks good (no cd there), as always there is active disease at my resection site and my stomach is showing polyps from Nexium or CD. So I guess no changes is a good thing at least I'm not flaring right now.

So the scope was normal. Since Remicade is not controlling my current symptons we are stopping it. My GI thinks it may be a motility issue. We'll see how things go once I'm off the remi for a few weeks but I may have to go for another gastric emptying study. I had one about 3 years ago that was normal but things change.
