severe upper rear leg pain

Hi all

Over the last couple of days ive had a flare up of my crohns and ive been having severe pain in my legs. The pain is at the back upper part of my legs and hurts when walking, sitting and mainly lying. It feels like muscular pain but not too sure. My Doctor thinks its related and started my on my Steroids. Do you think this is the cause?

I was just put on steriods too. And, I have been having like this itching in my calf
bones/muscle as well, but only on the outside area of the lower leg. It's weird it feels like growing pains because its achey, but itchy. I don't know. But, I concure I agree its the steriods.

I had pain similar to that although mine would flash down and back up the back of my leg at random times.  I went to an ortho doc who discovered I had an inflamed disc in my spine.  He injected a steroid/pain med into it and I haven't had it since.  I did, however, develop a hernia in my groin which causes a similar pain.  Can't do anything about it until I get my symptoms under control though.  If adding the potassium and magnisium doesn't work, I would suggest an ortho doc.
