Hi all

I hate for this to be my first post but I am a bit concerned...........I am as yet one of the great undiagnosed........last scoped 6 yrs ago.......nada zilch nothing but I was already on mtx for another condition. I ceased mtx over 12 months ago and bang symptoms come back!

 I am due to be scoped again with an edoscopy next wednesday.........just starting the prep.

I have been unwell since last xmas........this AM I have worse then normal pain on the middle left side. Sort of flank pain? I have ' been' a number of times already today and now have that " sit and nothing much happens" urge.........except I have a small amount of bright vaginal blood. I dont have a uterus ( got rid of that long ago )so Its not a period! It seems to be only when I open my bowels..... I feel unwell, shakey, hot and cold and I was really good yesterday other than not being able to stay awake! My back aches and my mouth feels ' greasy '............

Could it be a fistula? I know its not a fissure ( I have had 2 repaired. ) and I dont have any pain in that area.

Any advice gratefully recieved!

OUCH, sounds like it could be a fistula, especially if it's not from periods, I hope you'll be in to see your doc about this right away?

Are you sure it's from your vagina and not your urethra/bladder? Could it be a kidney infection or stone? Just a thought. The flank pain and hot and cold situation makes me wonder. I suggest getting to the doctor asap also. Hope you are well soon.

pretty sure its not urethral........wrong side of the paper ( sorry tmi!) Panadol has taken the temp down and things have settled a little....
No chance on getting in to see the Dr.......will cope till Wednesday and maybe have time to mention it to the GI doing the scope..........I seriously hate this :(

Hey Jan,

Any possibility of getting in with your family doctor instead of the GI before your scope? Or can you at least put a call into the your GI to discuss this latest development? If things get worse before Weds, do go to ER if needed. Good luck!

no chance of seeing my gp unless i am REALLY sick.........:( and I have only met this gi once before...............I will see what he comes up with but am not holding my breath..................Drs that mumble mumble ibs as they are typing dont give me a lot of reassurance..........

definitely mention it before the scope so they can sort of look toward that area. I had a fistula that went into my vaginal wall...and its just plain disgusting (and this while IN a hospital for them to well, notice or help me care for it). It could even be caused by muscle strain. Just keep in mind that a bit of blood is not especially scary (you could've caused tearing by a lot of um, straining caused by the colon prep stuff)...teaspoons as compared to cups (scary scary ER time scary).

I routinely get vaginal fissures.  I have no uterus either.  Evidently it goes along with all the other fun Crohns symptoms.  But I do agree with the others, make sure you mention it to your doctor, sooner, rather than later.  I hope that all goes well.

I have the invisible GI.................didnt see him before or after my upper and lower scope............the anesthetic guy did a very good job tho!
I asked the theatre nurse if I could look in the theatre notes ( which we did ) otherwise I would be none the wiser.:(
Mild divertictultis on the ascending colen, 2 x 1cm polyps and 6 biopsies sent to path.............a drawing of the stomach with a horizantle line across the top ( at the fundas ) and 40 written next to that............no idea on that one.
No instructions left other than see your local MO in 2 weeks ( obviously to read the report )
So I didnt get to ask about the possibility of a fistular.............however I did note that during the prep.......Pico.......that I had vaginal fluid suprisingly the same colour as the bowel fluid !
I can see how the diver fits but I have lost nearly 10 kgs and feel very ordinary.........
