I went to the ER on Tuesday night, got realeased last night.  Anyways, my reason for going was I was having really bad abdominal pain and I thought the c-diff infection I had about a month ago had returned.  I ended up having a colonoscopy while I was there (golytely+ not having eaten anything for 2 days prior= GOOD TIMES!!), and it showed that where I had my resection last December was all inflamed again, and now my colon is like completey covered in ulcers.  I never had a problem with my colon before.  They also found that my abdominal fistula is stemming out from where my resection took place (I figured that anyways).

So the GI's there decided to put me on cimzia as well as metho.  I had my first metho shot there in the hospital because they wanted to monitor me incase I had a bad reaction, I had no problems other then my urine was a dark brown color about 5 hours after the shot, but they didnt see worried about it, and it only happened once.

Anyways, I guess they are trying to be pretty agressive with this, apparently they cannot figure me out.  My GI and the other GI that did the scope said they were going to discuss my case at an IBD conference.   My surgery for my fistula is now pushed back (boo!)

Has anyone else been on these 2 drugs combined? I know I cannot get pregnant on the metho, so I'll have to get on some kind of birth control asap.

I have been on both, but not at one time. My doc is hesitant to combine the two, but it seems like he's considered it. He just wanted to try Cimzia alone. MTX didn't give me any ill side effects, but I never noticed a benefit either. However, my doc (at the time) only kept me on it for 2 months. I'm still not convinced that if I'd stayed on it - maybe it would have helped.

It sounds like you're in good hands, though, with several good docs looking after you. That's the great part of it. I sure hope you feel better soon!

I will agree with you, I have an AMAZING team of doctors and surgeons, I just wish my case wasn't so complicated.  But I basically have a team of 4 GI doctors and 2 surgeons looking after me, they all call me their daughter haha.

Good Morning, I am a 30 year Crohnie and a 30 year Colitis diseased woman who coincidentally isn't worried about getting pregnant because I am blessed with a beautiful grandson who tuns 4 years on Tuesday. For the first time in 30 years I am on a combination of Cimzia and 6MP. I am finding many side effects from the Cimzia such as anemia, UTI, and joint pain in different joints prior to the Crohn's Arthritis joint pain I've been experiencing before. HOWEVER, there hasn't ever been a combination of medications that have helped me as these 2 have. I have spend days in the potty where it seems like I have never left at all 20-25 trips a day. The 2 meds started to work almost immediately and I only go maybe 2-5 times a day now. I go for a weekly blood test, a see a Rheum once a month: I am monitored by a pain doctor and I have my usual internist. They all work as a team to make sure I am kept as fit as I an be. The Cimzia provides a in house nurse who should be coming to your house to give you your next shots and you should have your own Case Manager through Cimzia. I pray that you get all the help you need and PlEASE, PLEASE, let me know if I can help you in any way.

I don't know about these two drugs together, but did want to send good wishes your way and hope these meds work out well for you.  Will keep you in my prayers.
