Hello, I am nauseated all the time. I went off all meds thinking that was it but no change. What is with Crohn's that causes the nausea?? I am anemic as well nd going in Thurs for a infusion. Thank you KayC

Crohn's makes me nauseous. I'm not on any meds (yet) and I'm nauseous a lot. Then I don't eat, which makes me more nauseous. I finally eat and get sick, then I'm nauseous again. It's a bad cycle. :(

I find when I am nauseaus it is mostly due to my body being constipated or otherwise 'full' down there, so then instead of wanting more food or anything I get nauseaus or start vomitting until my body can clear itself out and start running proper again.

I am too..all the time..my family makes fun of me for sometimes having to spit outside..during times of extreme nausea and call me "the camel" its seems like its related to my bowels..if i ever get constipated..and don't move my bowels..then i throw up...some things in life can really help though..small salty snacks sometimes help-i think because they can get you to drink water-and sometimes a few carrots or small handful of raisins...glass of apple juice..just a tiny amount of food sometimes helps to curb that feeling..take care

Unfortunately, the nausea is part of this wonderful crohn's experience. Your best bet is to ask your doc for some type of nausea med like zofran or phenegran. Phenegran will make you tired but works really well in bad situations. I take zofran almost daily and it works very quickly but sometimes gives me a headache. Sometmes the nausea is caused by the things mentioned in the previous posts, but it is also just part of the situation. Just like arthritis and muscle aches, when your disease is active you will have it. This disease will have an effect on every part of your life, but you can treat most of the symptoms with mediction, therapy or by just cowboying up and taking it. The choice is yours but I choose to use all 3 methods at different times.

Well for me anytime the nausea starts, it usually means I have a stricture going on. The food gets to that narrow area and gets stuck, so everything sorta washes back up and makes you nauseaous. I would recommend talking to your doctor right away about
this. A small bowel follow (SBFT) thru is usually pretty good at spotting strictures. Good luck!

Thanks for the replies. My GI Dr has never told me I have a stricture just that I have narrowing. So I am sure this is the cause of my nausea. I mention it everytime and he never addresses it. THanks again, KayC
