Humira Doses

I don't think I've ever heard of someone taking 2 shots per week.

Only 1 shot (40 mg) every 2 weeks for me too.

I got upped to 1x per week a couple months ago.  I was told that once that became ineffective I would have to switch to a different medication.  I was told the life of humira in a person before it became ineffective was usually 1-3 years.  I am in year 2.

LisaLee-Thank you so much for responding!!! I cannot tell you how relieved I feel now that I know that I am not the only one taking this high of a dose. I was really starting to second guess my Dr, which I have never done before! Best of luck to you too!!!

I have been on Humira for three years. After about 1 1/2 years, it began to lose its effectivness. I have tried two shots every other week and one shot a week.

One of my G.I.'s is a very well respected Crohn's/Colitis specialists in Southern California. He was the one who suggested trying two a week if need be. He has some patients like me, who just seem to need more and have been successful with increasing the doseage to control flare-ups. He also said that I could try two one week and one the following week. So far, I have been stubborn and have stayed with two every other week.

Are you currently taking the two a week?
