I have just recently been diagnosed due to a blocked bowel and three weeks of hospitalization which included a couple of blood clots. I am now awaiting a colonoscopy and gastroscopy for further information on the diseased sections of the ileum. I am hoping for the best. I am sure that I have had CD for many years but was told it was IBS and to take imodium for the diarhea. I have also had a number of auto-immune issues throughout the past 15 years including eye issues, Raynauds and arthritis. I went into early menopause (Premature Ovulation Failure) at 37. I have gallbladder issues since 18 and had to have it removed in my early 30's.
I am currenty taking 5 Prednisone tablets a day (starting at 8 per day and each week it decreases by one). I am at the mid way point of the steroids next week and will be seeing my Gastroenterologist and will continue the steroids for another month. I am also taking 2 Pentasa 4 times a day, Prevacid, iron 3 times daily , B12 shot weekly and of course coumadin due to the blood clots. I am also taking sleeping pills as the steroids are keeping me awake and the sleeping pills are not even able to help that much.
That is my story thus far!
