Just wondering if any of you had suffered from one of these?  I was Dx with one on Thursday.  I was placed on Cipro, saw my GI today and he said it is safe t use my Humira on Wednesday.  The pain I was getting in my flank on the left side was doing better now today the painis coming back.  I will be done with the Cipro after Thrusday.  if i still have the pain on Thrusday I plan on calling my regular PA Any tips on helping would be great

i have the same pain feeling on my right side.. although I wouldnt describe it as pain.. pressure would be a better description

I had this a week ago and I  am on cimzia, I've taken cipro and flushed out with a gallon of water. What his does is to dialate the kidneys and open them up to move a possible kidney stone you might have. It turned out that I had passed 3mm stone and that was painful...goodluck.

I have been having flank pain for about 7 weeks now. I went for a U/A and tested positive for a UTI/kidney infection which did clear up, but the pain is still there. I had an CT to rule out any kidney stones or further infection. That showed a ton of fibroid in my uterus. Off to the GYN, he says no way the pain is from those, but I have to have a special ultrasound to find out exactly where they are and what to do about them. So next stop was a spine specialist. He says I have an SI dysfunction and I need 4 - 6 weeks of physical therapy. Physical therapist says that isn't my problem but we will treat it and see what happens. So basically I am left with doctors who are arguing about what the cause of the pain is and no one wanting to think that it is from their 'area' so they can palm me off on someone else.

So none of this was probably any help except that I never thought that my pain could be anything except the kidneys, but it might be a whole host of other things, or not. But I'm following each path until the pain goes away. I hope you find out the cause of your pain soon.

If you have severe pain on your side..you should just get it checked out..if anything..it will help clear your mind...you can drink cranberry juice or take cranberry supplements...and drink alot of water...

about 10% of Crohn's patients have sacro-ileac pain. They don't have any real idea why - just an arthropathy that goes with CD. If the antibiotics don't do the trick, you should see your Gyn and possibly a Rheumy.

I once had what I thought was just a very bad UTI. I didn't immediately go to the doctor because it was over Christmas. Anyway, it turned into a severe kidney infection that put me into the hospital for a week. What happened was that they gave me one antibiotic, but it was not the correct one for my UTI. So the infection spread to my kidney. By then I had had the UTI for about a week and then needed IV antibiotics for another whole week while in the hospital. I had fever, chills, vomiting, weakness and bad flank pain. I was sent home with oral antibiotics for four more months to completely clear the infection. It was not fun. The flank pain lasted a long, long time.
