So, I don't post often at all, mostly, I just read and offer advice if I can. I've recently had some interesting symptoms and assume they are related to my crohn's but can't be sure.
I had a total colectomy in January of 2002. Besides a pesty wound that wouldn't heal and one minor episode of arthritis flare ups, I've been good. Essentially in remission. So by defination, I have nothing left below the small intestine - NOTHING!
One of the symptoms I had when I was sick was really bad fistula disease. Mostly peri anal. I had to sit on a donut for 2 years I was always in pain. So now, I start having butt pain again. Not in the anal area, but in the gluteal muscles. It is the same pain as when I had all of the fistulas. It feels like my muscles are ripping apart. I have an appointment with my GI next week. In the mean time I'm trying to figure out what could be causing this butt pain?! Could it be fistulas? Where would they be from? How would the doctors find out since I'm completely sewn up down there!?
