omega 3(1000mg) hot or not

does any one know about high doses of omega 3 for crohns heard it good for heart patients but next to nothing for my needs . my dietician recommended it so am giving it ago but only bin 2 days so waiting to see , also waiting to find out about surgery for stricture in terminal illieum and know nothing about what it entails, was told by nurse after being kebabed sorry cameras both ends, she came up to me and said they are talking about surgery and fitting a bag then left the room am still waiting to see specialist from 2 months ago due to cancellation of his clinic oct 12 next date to see him have so many questions floating around in my head cant think properly please help

My dietitian said some doctors swear by it, that others don't believe it works, and that both of these opinions are based on actual studies and research. She said it can't hurt either way though. It does have its health benefits, but it can't get rid of Crohn's symptoms.

There are some reports of enteric coated omega 3 oils helping reduce inflammation. It depends on where you Crohn's is - it works better for problems in the small intestines.

thank for info crohns is in small bowel so here goes as can't take anti-inflammatories due to most have lactose in them

My daughter was just telling me that she had read that there was a link between hypermobility and Crohn's. I thought that was interesting since both of us are hypermobile. She has not been tested for Crohn's as she is only 15 and has had no trouble so far. It made me wonder about her future.

I hope the Omega 3 is helpful. You must be very lactose sensitive. I am lactose intolerant and didn't know about the pills having lactose. I haven't had a reaction as far as I know.

Well, The debate continues. I do however know fish oil acts as a blood thinner so I would talk to you surgeon before your surgery. My wife works for the cardiologist here in town. They routinely have problems with patients who take fish oil with blood thinning drugs!
