flu, flare or Cimzia?

I ache all over.  I've been on Cimzia now for about 5 months and have been doing really well until this last week. I can't sleep, I hurt all over, especially my leg muscles, headache, mild cramping.  I just don't have the energy to do anything.  I know these could all be symptoms of Crohns, the flu or Cimzia side effects.  My next injections are due  Nov 1.  I just haven't felt this bad since starting Cimzia.  I had all the repiratory issues but even those aren't  too bad now.  I'm gargling twice a day with salt water and also using a saline nasal wash twice daily.an you tell the difference.  My blood work in good for the first time in 5 yrs. since being on cimzia. I feel like I've been beaten with a baseball bat!

Do you have any of the other symptoms of the flu? Like chills, high fever, runny nose, sore throat, etc? They can test you for both influenza A and B pretty quick, if you can make it to your general practitioner, or even just like a walgreens clinic. How long have you been feeling ill like this, and are you getting better or worse? Have your bowel movements been normal?

If you don't think you're getting better, you should probably get yourself to a doc right quick. If you are having problems with the flu, they can put you on tamiflu and help shorten the duration and virulence of the flu. Given that you have respiratory infection symptoms, I'd think this was some kind of infection - the flu is making the rounds. I recommend seeing your general doc right away, and getting tamiflu if indeed you do have the flu.

I never had any problems like that on Cimzia.  Sounds like it could be the flu, some of it could be caused by allergies (where I live, allergies are bad right now), could be weather related (if it's getting cold there).  I agree that you should see a doctor, as I've heard a lot of people around here are getting the flu right now.

I don't have a fever, sore throat or chills. I do suffer with allergies all the time, but its not too bad right now. This extreme fatigue, cramping and body aches started about a week ago. It feels like the flu without the fever and chills, yet it also mimics a flare up except in the past I always had joint pain with a flare, not really the muscle pain. This is just weird. I have a call in to the dr. Thanks for listening.

is it joint pain?? cimzia can have a lupus like reaction...see a rheumotoligist

I don't have joint pain. I always had that when I was flaring. This is muscle pain and in the feel feet too. My upper body doesn't hurt, just thighs, calves and feet.
